Televisions and dvd players are provided to both bedrooms in the main house, whilst the separate guest lounge, which opens to the charming central atrium, has been set up as a quiet reading area. Here you'll find an open fireplace, stereo system (including CD Player), selection of tapes, CDs, books, games, dvds, as well as a stocked guest fridge and 24 hour tea/coffee making facilities ~ a range of teas, coffee and a selection of herbal beverages are provided with our compliments.

Hillcrest Bed & Breakfast is in beautiful Crystal Creek just 13 kms from the centre of Murwillumbah, near the New South Wales/Queensland Border in the Tweed Coast hinterland region of Northern Rivers Tropical NSW. As our name suggests, we're perched atop a hill to take in the breath-taking views as well as enjoy the cooling summer breezes, although all guest quarters have split system reverse cycle air-conditioning for the days when ceiling fans are just not enough to keep comfortable.

Hillcrest Bed & Breakfast guests enjoy our 12 metre solar heated, salt-water swimming pool ~ which has some of the best views in the Tweed hinterland ~ 360 degrees from Mt Warning to the rainforests of Springbrook Border Range. As we accommodate a maximum of 2 couples in the main house and 1 couple in the cottage you can be assured of peace and quiet as well as plenty of room in the pool. 
The gazebo by the pool looks out across 2 lilly-filled dams to the rainforests of Springbrook National Park & the Cougal Mountains, whilst main house guest rooms open to a large verandah which looks across the rolling pastures of a 200 acre farm to Mt Warning - the eroded central "plug" of the world's largest extinct shield volcano and the spot where the dawn sun first touches Australia.

At night we light up the gazebo, pool and gardens, making this a perfect spot to enjoy one of our romantic candle-lit dinners. Self-catering enthusiasts will prefer Hillcrest Cottage with it's fully equipped kitchen and own gas bbq on the private verandah.

Both rooms are fully air-conditioned, have televisions, dvd players, queen size beds and ensuite bathrooms. As it's name suggests, the Spa Suite has a luxury double Spa Bath as well. Both rooms enjoy double glass sliding doors opening to a large verandah with a private table, chairs and hammock outside each room ~ a perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee and take in the views across rolling green hills to Mt Warning in the distance. Cost varies with time of year, length of stay and room chosen. As we specialise in romantic getaways for couples, we do not have a single rate nor do we cater for children or pets.
Hillcrest Bed & Breakfast ~ Blue Room
Hillcrest Blue Room is double room with QS bed, television and dvd player. A good size built-in wardrobe comes complete with robes, pool towels and plenty of hangers whilst double glass sliding doors open from your room to a large verandah where you'll find table, chairs and your own personal hammock outside your room. Your ensuite bathroom has a full size bath, separate shower, bath towels, candles, hairdryer and a selection of toiletries for use during your stay. Fully air-conditioned and with ceiling fans, our Blue Room is 4½ Star luxury at an affordable price. Cost includes our full country-style breakfast each morning as well as port and "something chocolate" each evening. Cost is from $150 to $165 per Couple per Night (surcharge may be applied for single night stays and short stays during Xmas/NY & Easter).

Hillcrest Bed & Breakfast ~ Luxury Spa Suite
Hillcrest Spa Suite is a large QS room with QS bed, television and dvd player. A good size built-in wardrobe comes complete with robes, pool towels and plenty of hangers, whilst double glass sliding doors open from your room to a large verandah where you'll find table, chairs and your own personal hammock outside your room. Your large ensuite bathroom has a luxury double spa bath with its own instant gas hot water system so you are guaranteed a full bath at all times, separate shower, bath towels, candles, hairdryer and a selection of toiletries for use during your stay. Fully air-conditioned and with ceiling fans, our Spa Suite is the best room in the house, and according to the judge for the NSW State Tourism Awards "would rival any 5 Star hotel room in the city". Cost includes our full country-style breakfast each morning as well as port and "something chocolate" each evening.  The air conditioned main house guest lounge, which opens to the charming central atrium, has an open fireplace, stereo system including CD player, a selection of CDs, dvds, books, games, stocked fridge and 24 hour beverage-making facilities. A range of teas, coffee, a selection of herbal teas and caffeine free beverages are provided for the health-conscious with our compliments. The two local Video Libraries in Murwillumbah are happy to provide temporary membership to Hillcrest guests for the duration of their stay. We provide some current dvds during prolonged periods of bad weather, plus our own blockbuster and black & white classic movie collection is growing steadily.
